Drive Heads

  We manufacture a wide range of Drive Heads that operates at a relatively low value of input power to give maximum value of Output Torque a Clarifier, Thickener or Degritting Mechanism Installation. Traditional System of using Drive Heads is still widely followed due to their competitive price and very high life expectency ranging from 15 years to 50 years. These Drives May be Broadly Popularly famous as  Bridge Mounted Drives for Central Driven Mechanisms Suspended from Full Bridge. 
The Torque Switches or Overload Alarms either Spring Type Mechanical or Modern Load Cell Type Digital on the drive control will actuate to warn the operator to take corrective action when Mechanism Load equals the set Torque Limit which is well below the Peak Torque level of the Drive.

1. Motorized Rake Lifting Arrangement to enable motorized lifting / lowering of Rake Arms with entire Center Shaft in assembled & operating Condition i.e, without stopping rake drive.


Motorized Lifting Device are a most modern method of ensuring that your Thickener is never shut down to will never be required to drain due to Overload. Above all Overload protection is achieved against damage of any of the critical parts of Thickener Mechanism.


Motorized Lifting Device Automatic Lifting Devices are Manufactured for all Types of Drive Heads from 600mm Size to 1800mm Size. The Motor assembly is mounted on the top of the Lifting Device and needs to be wired through a Slip Ring Assembly to establish Rotary Electrical Joint / connection.


The Auto Lift or Motorized Lift is available ranging from lift of 300mm, 600mm & 900mm and suitable BCH Limit Switches are provided to de-limit the Lift of Rake Arms within the Given Range.

2. A most modern method is synchronizing Motorised lifting device for Auto Lift along with Overload alarm. This ensure uninterrupted Machine operation and trouble free service.

We have Specialized in Developing High Speed Drive Heads used for Impellor Drives or Recirculation Drives in Solids Contact Clarifiers or popularly known as HRSCC (High Rate Solids Contacts Clarifier) HRSCC DrivesTypes of Drive Heads have widely replaced Open Gear Design for Recirculation Drive with fully Enclosed Design of Drive Head capable of Taking Impellor Speeds from 5 to 25 RPM.


It has been proven for all sizes of Impellor from 0.6 Mtr Dia, to 2.8 Mtr Dia.


HRSCC Drives are available in 2 Different Sizes and most advantageous features are as listed below :


1. Fully Enclosed Worm & Worm Wheel Design with Integral Ground Worm Shaft.


2. Worm Gear & Bearings Lubricated in Housing with Splash Lubrication.

Drive Heads are Slow Speed High Torque Standardized Drives used for Large Scale industrial Applications such as Prime Drive for process Equipments like Clarifiers, HRSCC (High Rate Colids Contact Clarifier), Thickeners, High Torque Thickeners, Clariflocculators. Drive Heads are traditionally primarily classified in two broad Categories Bridge Mounted Drives & Column Mounted Drives. However recent developments have led to more application specific and sophisticated drive heads with additional provisions like Overload Alarm, Load Cell, Manual Lifting Arrangement, Motorised Lifting Arrangement etc.

Construction:

The basic construction comprises of a Worm Gear reduction unit driven by and integrated worm & shaft assembly. The entire mechanism is enclosed in C.I. Housing and the Gear Wheel rests on a large dia. Bearing assembly comprising of Standard Heavy duty Steel Balls and Bearing Strips. Thus the system becomes an fully enclosed system suitable for mounting on Steel Fabricated Bridge spanning the RCC/Steel Tank.

Operation:

During operation the Worm Gear in turn transmits the Torque to Central Shaft followed by the rake arms submerged in the slurry/effluent filled inside the tank. These Drive Heads are traditionally classified / standardized to accommodate a wide range of Torque as 300mm Dia., 450mm Dia., 600mm Dia., 900mm Dia., 1200mm Dia., 1500mm Dia., 1800mm Dia.

These Drive Heads are accompanied with following Accessories on specific requirements / applications:

2. Fairly Easy to Operate and normally used for Low Sludge Effluent Thickeners like STP, WTP or ETP.

3. Manual type of Lifting Devices are provided with 3 Planet Gears Housed in one Internal Gear.
The Screw Shaft passing through the Gear Nut at Center Steadily Guided by Three Planet Gears is extremely Sturdy and Capable of Lifting Vertical Loads as large as 12 Tons.

4. Based on the Size of Drive Head or Torque of Drive Head; These lifting Devices are designed to
Lift the Rake Arm Mechanism during Operation without causing overload / damage of any of the Mechanism Parts.

5. Manual Lifting Device Provides Low Cost Robust solution to Thickener Overload and the operator is always aware to lift the Rake as soon as the Overload Hooter / signal is Triggered by Torqu Switch.
